The Wonder of Water

Yes, it's a song!  The meniscus is the curve you see when, for example, water is in a test tube.  This curve is due to surface tension and the cohesion of water molecules.  It's important to understand this and know to use the bottom of the meniscus when measuring liquids.

Another demonstration of an experiment we do in class:

The amazing anti-gravity water trick!  Be certain that you watch BOTH videos!!!

Part 2:

Why does ice float?

Three experiments on board the International Space Station:
1. Surface Tension

2. Cohesion and Adhesion
3. Wringing out water in space

A cooler setup than the one we had in class for demonstrating electrolysis:

Look what happens to these colored drops - all due to surface tension!
